About Me

My name is Rachael Berkeley. I am a child and adult therapist and I immensely enjoy working with individuals, children, and families to help them address their concerns, make changes, and feel better. Over the many years I've worked with people in the mental health field, I've been amazed by human potential and desire for change, despite sometimes great odds and despair.

I earned my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in direct clinical practice from the University of Washington in 2000 and have nearly twelve years of post-masters counseling experience. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon.  Prior to this, I graduated from Boston University with a Bachelors in Psychology and worked with at-risk children in community and mental health settings for ten years.

My family therapy work is greatly influenced by Unconditional Parenting, Attachment Parenting, and Non-Violent Communication. My training and practice includes psychodynamic and psychoanalytic practices. My counseling practice has been influenced by the adults, children, and families I’ve known. Their resiliency, creativity, strength, and commitment demonstrate how trust in oneself, coupled with a desire to change, can lead to incredible growth.

Both my training and personal experiences influence who I am as a therapist. My goal is to help you explore, learn, expand, connect with loved ones, and get through tough times. I believe that therapy can help us when we feel unsatisfied, lost, and hurt.

Let’s talk about how I could help you.
